I definitely agree. In the digital age it is not only convenient to electronically send files back and forth between different members of production, but sometimes (like in an last-minute emergency) it is necessary. Especially for electronic news gathering in the field. They can shoot, edit, and send the package to the studio for further use and incorporating the piece in the show.
The Google Drive is great just last week i was at a session and realized i forgot a hard drive to put it on someone else there just grabbed it for me and when i got home it was already there right in my Google drive
